Vienna: Riesenrad

Before we left Vienna we rode the Wiener Riesenrad. We had to run to catch our train (only 4 minutes to spare)!

Hundertwasser in Vienna

By far the highlight of our Vienna trip was seeing artwork and architecture by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. We went to the Kunst Haus Wien, built by Hundertwasser.

Many of Hundertwasser's paintings are on display here:

We then walked over a few blocks to see the Hundertwasser Haus.

Reise: Vienna

We took a day trip to Vienna and spent some time seeing the city, including some famous sites (the Ankeruhr--a clock with moving figures and organ music, and the outside of St. Stephens Cathedral):

After that it was time to hear some music . . .

Mozart!

One important thing to know about Salzburg is that Mozart was born there and lived there for awhile. We took a tour of the apartment he lived in and learned a lot about his early life.

Salzburg: Hohensalzburg Castle

We went up to Hohensalzburg Castle, one of the largest castles in all of Europe. It sits on a hill over the old part of the city.
