We headed east to Flumserberg, an area supposedly good for skiing, for a hike high in the mountains. We had been planning an easy hike but the trail we meant to take was closed due to recent snow! So we had to wing it.
The Grossmünster church also has famous stained glass windows--by Augusto Giacometti.
We were surprised to also find other windows, by Sigmar Polke, which were installed about a year ago. We all especially loved these. They are made of agates, very thin slices of stone.
The Fraumünster church is a major landmark in Zürich. We finally went inside to see the famous Marc Chagall windows. Here you can see them virtually on the web:
It was cold at the descent! We could see our breath. Lucky for us there was a group of school kids selling mint tea. After you got your tea, you could sprinkle flower petals on top to decorate. Lucky for Heidi and Steve there was Vin Chaud (hot mulled wine) too.
