Reise: Paris

Recently we went to Paris. To get there we rode the high-speed TGV train.

Knabenschiessen - food

There was lots of great street food at the carnival.

We especially liked the chnoblibrot (garlic bread).

The bakeries around town were selling special Knabenschiessen Kuchen.

Knabenschiessen - more rides

We also went on swings that went 60 meters up over Zurich:

And a very fun roller coaster that had individual round cars. Halfway through the ride a mechanism unlocked and the cars were free to spin. It was exciting!

Knabenschiessen - goodbye New York

We went on the giant ferris wheel first:

Each car in the ferris wheel had the name of a famous city. We were so excited that we were going to get to ride in New York. But just as it was our turn, a TV crew was let on.

We ended up in the car behind, but the ride was still fantastic!

Knabenschiessen

From the 11th through the 13th of September was Knabenschiessen, a festival that includes a shooting contest and a giant carnival--the largest carnival we've ever seen!

More Luzern

Here's a mural that we love:

We walked along Lake Luzern

had lunch at a nice little cafe/backerei

and visited the famous lion sculpture.
