Alphorn in Rigi

We heard this amazing sound during our Rigi hike and it happened to be a alphorn.

Wandern: Rigi

Sundays are our wandern days. That's pretty typical for the Swiss. So unless the weather is really bad, we set off on a nice hike. A couple of weeks ago, we took a hike on a mountain called Rigi, which rises above the cities of Lucerne and Zug. It was a beautiful day, so a bit crowded, but still a nice hike.

Alpamare waterslide park

On one of the last warm days of the year, we took a trip to Alpamare, Europe's largest waterslide park.

Most of the slides are under cover so that you can actually visit the park year round.

One of our favorite things was not a waterslide, but a pool with a very strong current that imitates some of the rivers around here. Annie and Zoë also especially liked their wave pool.

Lucy!

Heidi bought an old bike at a giant used bike market. It has a loose seat (and probably other loose things), so we named her Lucy.

Swimming in the Zürichsee

Another place to swim is in Lake Zürich. There's a park and a promenade along the water's edge. On warm days many people cool off there. Of course there are also gelato stands all along the promenade too.

Our favorite swimming pool

This is a link to the best public pool we've found:

One of the things we like best about it is the very very long slide that it has. Somehow Annie and Zoë always seem to get stuck in the slide so that Heidi or Steve crash into them. It's a lot of fun!
