A singing moose
We encountered this moose in Stuttgart, singing about glühwein (a hot, mulled wine that is everywhere in Europe this time of year). Yikes!
Güetsli! (Cookies!)
We've been baking cookies, as we always do this time of year, to share with friends and colleagues. This year we added a couple of new Swiss recipes to our repertoire--Brunsli, something like a little spicy brownie, and Zimtsterne, cinnamon stars with a meringue topping.
Lichterschwimmen (Swimming lights)
Awhile back we headed out for an annual Zürich tradition--Lichterschwimmen--where hundreds of candles are set afloat the Limmat River.

O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum
We got our tree at a plaza not too far from our apartment. The trees come from a forest on Züriberg, the hill next to the city.
